Leona Lewis ‘Not Threatened By Alexandra Burke’

Leona Lewis isn’t concerned with competing against Alexandra Burke, as she is too busy ensuring her own career goes well.

When asked what she thought of Burke – who also rose to fame by winning the X Factor just as she did – she relied: “Oh Alexandra! She’s just so beautiful. Her single Bad Boys is a great song and so her – it’s so much fun.”

“We all went out for a mutual friend’s birthday the other day and she seems very happy. Everyone asks if I’m worried about going up against her – but I’m not. It’s about doing your own thing.”

As for her friendship with Simon Cowell, Leona revealed the pair are still friends.

“We speak on the phone all time, I love him.” Lewis adds. “But no, I don’t fancy him! It’s so funny when people say I’m his type. I think I’m a bit young for him!”

“I performed at his birthday party, but I had no rehearsal time beforehand. I’m hoping that as I got there really late everyone was so drunk they didn’t notice how bad I was!”

Leona Lewis releases her new single ‘Happy’ on 9th November, and her second album ‘Echo’ on 16th November.
